All students living on campus are required to select a meal plan. Specific meal plans are available based upon each students academic credits. All first year students, or students who have less then 30 credits, are required to enroll in the 23 meals per week plan. Students with over 30 credits are given the option to change to a lower meal plan.
This meal plan comes with 19 meal swipes per week and 4 additional meal swipes that can be used for late night dining in the Minton Dining Hall. In addition to a total of 23 meal swipes, this plan also comes with $100 flex dollars per semester. Any student may purchase this meal plan.
This meal plan comes with 12 meal swipes per week and 4 additional meal swipes that can be used for late night dining in the Minton Dining Hall. In addition to a total of 16 meal swipes, this plan also comes with $100 flex dollars per semester. Students with 30 or more credits may purchase this meal plan.
Students who live off campus and/or are commuters are encouraged, but not required, to purchase a meal plan. Commuters may purchase one of the plans above or the Commuter 5 Meal Plan below.
This meal plan comes with 5 meal swipes per week. Students who live off campus, graduate students, or students who are registered as "renters" may purchase this meal plan.

On Campus Students:
Students living on campus will choose their meal plan during the Confirmation process found on MyUnion at https://my.unionky.edu/ICS/Confirmation. Students have until the end of the first week of classes to have all Confirmation forms completed.
Commuters, Graduates or Renters:
Students who wish to purchase a Commuter Plan will need to email Student Accounts at studentaccounts@unionky.edu.
Important Notes:
Students have until the Add/Drop date of each semester to make any adjustments to their meal plan. After Add/Drop, students are only able to increase their meal plan.
Any student living on campus or commuting who wishes to purchase a meal plan to be billed back to their Union College student account may contact Student Accounts at studentaccounts@unionky.edu.
Flex Dollars are dollar for dollar funds that can be spent in any dining restaurant on campus. They come with the 23 and 16 meals per week dining plans. Flex Dollar balances will roll over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester. At the end of the Spring semester, all Flex Dollar funds will expire. They can be added to your student ID anytime of the year by visiting our online dining store.
Bulldog Bucks are dollar for dollar funds that may be spent at any on campus dining location and campus store. They can be added to your student ID anytime of the year, even if you do not have a meal plan. Bulldog Bucks roll over from semester to semester, and never expire.
The Meal Exchange program allows students to use one meal swipe per day in either The Kennel, Conversations Coffee Shop, or Molecules Coffee Shop.
What is a meal swipe?
Each meal plan comes with a set number of meal swipes that may be used each week. One swipe gets you access to our all-you-care-to-eat Minton Dining Hall or use it as a meal at one of the other retail dining locations on campus one time per day.
What are Flex Dollars?
Flex Dollars are dollar for dollar funds that come with the 23 or 16 meal plans. Remaining Flex Dollar funds will roll over from the Fall semester to the Spring semester. At the end of the Spring semester, any leftover funds expire.
What are Bulldog Bucks?
Bulldog Bucks are additional dollar for dollar funds that can be purchased anytime throughout the semester. They do not expire and roll over from semester to semester.
What is a meal exchange?
A meal exchange is one meal swipe that gets you a set meal at the Kennel, Conversations Coffee Shop or Molecules Coffee Shop.
What are the rules for meal exchange?
There is a set menu at The Kennel, Conversations Coffee Shop and Molecules Coffee Shop in which you may use one of your meal swipes per day at one of these locations. Meal Exchange options will be posted at each individual location.
Where/when can I change my meal plan?
A student can upgrade their meal plan anytime throughout the semester. If a student would like to select a plan that is lower than the one they currently have, they must visit or contact Student Accounts.
When does my weekly meal balance reset?
Every Monday morning your weekly meal swipe balance replenishes to the full amount.
